One of the major changes in the organization's policy will mean that online casino software providers will no longer have to be to be members of eCOGRA in order to receive its approval. Nevertheless, the organization made it clear that the standards will be kept as high as they were before, in order to assure the safety of online casino players around the world. "We've received hundreds of applications from operators who aren't using our existing members' software, which was previously a pre-requisite for obtaining our seal. From now on, all operators will be able to apply for an eCOGRA seal of approval" said Andrew Beveridge, CEO of the organization.
"I think this is a time when it is vital for the online casino industry to demonstrate responsibility for player protection and improved operational standards, and that's exactly what we're trying to do" adds Beveridge.
